The Block's 2017 winners Elyse Knowles and Josh Barker have gathered with friends and family to celebrate their pregnancy.

Held in Byron Bay, where they are renovating their home, the event was also organised in honour of their unborn child, currently nicknamed 'Muffin'.

"Muffin is very spoilt to have all the love in the world! What a weekend with family and friends! So very grateful!!" Elyse posted on Instagram alongside a family photo from the day.

Both Elyse and Josh's mum's were at the festivities, which had a laidback vibe with a picnic style set-up and healthy snack platters.It marks the latest in a series of relationship milestones for Elyse and Josh. Last week they announced their engagement with a cute post on Instagram featuring the engagement ring Josh gave Elyse along with her baby bump.

The colour theme featured earthy tones — which Elyse complemented with an orange dress — while the décor included a large vase of sunflowers, patterned rugs and a long rustic wooden table.The couple revealed they were expecting a baby in September last year during a trip to the Northern Territory.

But the pregnancy hasn't been completely smooth-sailing, as Elyse, like many expectant mums, experienced a "rough" first trimester.

Elyse has continued her successful modelling career throughout her pregnancy but hinted at plans to pull back when the bub arrives.

"I don't know when, but I want to embrace being a mum and being at home and really soaking in every moment with bubba," she said on Today Extra.

Elyse and Josh competed on Season 13 of The Block, which was set in Elsternwick. They became known for their chic, yet effortless style and won six out of the 12 room reveals.

At auction, the house the couple renovated sold for a whopping $3.067 million. It earnt them a profit of $447,000 plus $100,000 prize money for making the most profit of all the teams.

The excitement over the result grew when it was revealed the person who bought the property was comedian and radio host Dave Hughes.
