Elyse Knowles began her modelling profession in 2002, at aged 10. Kickstarting her career with regular commercial bookings for clients such as Target, Myer Online, Kmart, The Just Group, Ripcurl and Billabong, her natural ability become instantly obvious to those around her. Since those early days, Elyse has continued to develop and nurture both her career & reputation as one of Australia’s leading models.
Elyse has excelled in her career from an early age & earned esteemed roles & ambassadorships for a collection of brands including, Australia’s iconic retail leader, Myer. Along with Myer, Elyse’s portfolio includes Seafolly, Calvin Klein, Tag Heuer, Aveda & Vital Greens.
Balancing her early modelling career (which included regular local & overseas travel), and her education, Elyse completed her tertiary education to find instant comfort as a highly in demand, full time model. Expanding her commercial portfolio was the next step & one in which Elyse seamlessly achieved. Over the past 6 years, Elyse has continued to grow her portfolio with roles in film & television, runway & high end editorial.
Aside from modelling, Elyse has a deep curiosity for business development & a natural entrepreneurial spirit. In 2004, Elyse Knowles surprised the industry by taking on the role of a designer & launching her own denim line, Evrryday. Then in 2018, she released her first book, From Me To You which was published by Murdoch Books. FMTY became an Australian best-seller just a few weeks shy of hitting the shelves.
More recently, Elyse’s interests & involvement in investment opportunities has matured. Along with her long-term partner, Josh Barker, the pair have started a joint building business, J&E Projects while simultaneously becoming promising investors in the Australian property market. The pair won the 2017 series of Network 9’s The Block, allowing the Australian public to witness their natural interest in architecture and interior design & skill set in this area.
Throughout her growth & experiences in the fashion, entertainment & property industries, Elyse’s varying successes have fuelled her enthusiasm in regards to becoming an avid contributor in the philanthropic space & an admired young leader in sustainable living practices. With thanks to her humble, family oriented childhood where fresh air and the open outdoors were treasured, Elyse has found a natural voice in both of these meaningful areas. WaterAid Australia employed Elyse has their face between 2014 and 2018, inviting Elyse to educate the public & spread much needed awareness about giving back & taking immeasurable care of our shared planet.
2019 and beyond, will see Elyse continuing to persevere & grow her role as a public figure in both the Australian and the overseas market. With her grounded personality & her hard working nature, Elyse has earned and maintained a brilliant reputation which champions her expansive capabilities, her willingness to get involved & learn and of course, her will to see herself & those around her succeed.
