My Spring Summer Wardrobe

ELYSE KNOWLES MYER 2020 6.jpg

Summer is well & truly here and I have a lot to be grateful for this year. I have a little bubba blossoming away in my belly and I'm lucky enough to be nesting in such a beautiful part of the world. Now it's time to sort the wardrobe and make sure my daily style is a true reflection of how I'm feeling - joyful, content & very grateful! With a baby on the way there's a lot to organise ... a whole LOT! Thankfully as always, my wonderful Myer family have made the task of organising this year's Spring Summer wardrobe exceptionally seamless. Shall we explore what's coming in? Let's do it!

As the days get warmer & longer I'm pretty keen on keeping my look fresh, light and on the effortless side. Bright whites, crispy linens & some good quality basics are the best way to do exactly this. If you have a good collection of staples on hand that you can rotate throughout the week, you'll be doing yourself a big favour. I find that sometimes simplicity is key & less can be so much more.

As well as quality basics, I like to add a feminine touch to my style using pastel colours & floral prints. Nothing too over the top or overly frilly, just a refined selection of dresses that are easy to slip on with a pair of old Cons or summery slides. Also in the mix will be some elegant tailored pieces. A sophisticated, well fitted jacket & a chic pair of pants are wardrobe must haves... as well (of course!), as a selection of rocker style t-shirts that I can run amuck in!

I've been admiring Myer's focus on value, quality, fit & longevity this year. They're not only stocking premium designers but they also have a large array of pieces that will age gracefully in your wardrobe over the years to come. Pieces that will easily take you through all four seasons. I think this is the way forward when it comes to fashion. We all want to make wise & thoughtful purchases that cater to fit, quality & care. With travel & social activities being compromised for the next however long, we're all shopping with purpose. Which is a great thing! It's a sustainable way to shop and I'm so excited that Myer are so beautifully entwining this into their offering for their customers.

For this year's SS campaign I worked with an incredible creative team. Tessa Law styled the shoot with her eye for all things relatable yet fresh, on trend & striking, Ashlea Penfold was behind the beautifully natural hair and makeup & it was all captured by Christopher Ferguson's stunning photography. I worked really closely with the Myer team on this shoot. We felt that with everything that's happened over the last year, this particular shoot needed to be extra personal & hands on. With so many of us spending more time closer to home, whether it be for isolation or work reasons, home felt where the spirit of the shoot needed to be. For this reason we followed the feeling & shot the campaign in Byron Bay with a local team.

With such a wonderful calibre of designers in Myer stores (including their online store of course), such as the always loved Sass & Bide, Elliatt, Tony Bianco, Piper, Bling Bar and some exciting newcomers such as Third Form & Out With Audrey ... as well as those balmy Australian summer nights & blissfully warm mornings, Myer has a rainbow of fresh trends just waiting to share with you all. I can't wait for you all to see!!

Hope everyone is feeling festive! Stay safe, healthy & kind.
