The Block BLOG

46a, The Regent

It was a bitter sweet week this week as we are so happy to be finished up at The Block, but it's also very sad to be saying goodbye to an incredible experience! This week Josh and I made sure we gave our little Elsternwick based Californian Bungalow the facade is deserved. Sweet, sophisticated, warm & welcoming. We were very committed to ensuring we restored it's true heritage elements to preserve it's authentic character & charm.

The front of our home is gorgeously welcoming. As you come through the white picket fence, you are greeted with green grass & potted plants, red bricks, a place to read the paper & of course a good ol' welcome matt - where the kiddies can wipe their feet after running a muck in the street!

The mix of colours, textures & materials all perfectly align with the interiors of house & the back garden. Bluestone pavers & the wooden deck were used to create strong surface areas that will be super easy to maintain and keep clean overtime. The garden follows this easy-to-maintain idea & will only get bigger and better with age. As it grows tall & lush it will add pops of vibrancy to the house, from summer into winter.

We are so proud of what we have achieved this week. Endless hours painting, sanding, scrubbing and running around like a headless chook - but it's worth it!! The end result is nothing short of perfect ... bring on auction week!! This house is going to make someone a beautiful family home.

Thanks again to Dave Franklin & his awesome team for their brilliant landscaping designs + all of their hard work and creative energy. They are magic makers & we couldn't have produced our dream garden (front & back) without them. And congrats to our neighbours, Sticks & Wombat for taking out last nights win! We're stoked for them!
